Guests are welcome to enjoy fresh complimentary coffee from our lobby. If you desire something more please visit our Cafe by the STRAND within Wheat for specialty coffee and morning pastries located in the building next to our lobby. The STRAND is open daily in May to October from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

We offer an assortment of rooms that accommodate up to six guests. Unfortunately, rollaway beds are not available. We are happy however to help review room options with you to make sure that you are comfortable.

We are centrally located in Edgartown and recommend guests avoid bringing a car if possible. We do have limited parking available onsite without a charge. We also have a secondary parking lot (20 Winter Street) that is within walking distance from hotel.

When is the Swimming Pool and Hot Tub open?

Our private heated pool and hot tub is exclusively for our hotel guests. The pool is open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM. The pool is open, weather pending, from mid April to the week prior to Thanksgiving. The pool will be closed on November 21, 2024 for the season.

Faraway Martha’s Vineyard is pleased to offer complimentary bicycles and helmets for guest use on a first-come, first- served basis. Please see a staff member for more information. What Is The Hotel's Pet Policy?

Yes, the hotel has a resort fee of 5% of rate plus 9.7% tax. The resort fee gives our guests access to the following and more:

  • Two bottles of branded PATH water
  • Access to exclusive guest only pool and hot tub
  • Lotion and towel service at pool
  • Beach Towels to visit the vineyard beaches
  • Access to our bicycles to explore the Vineyard 
  • Parking (based on availability)

Do I Need A Credit Card To Check In, And Does The Hotel Require A Hold To Guarantee Incidental Charges?

A valid credit card will be required upon check-in.

A pre-authorization hold of $150 per day is taken at the time of check-in to guarantee any incidental charges. This pre-authorization hold will be released upon check-out as a reversal (i.e. will not appear as a refund), and it may take up to 3-10 business days for the hold to disappear from your bank account/bank statement, depending on your financial institution.

What Is The Hotel's Cancellation Policy?

Our standard cancellation policy is if you cancel outside of 30 days prior to arrival, deposit is returned, minus a $225 service charge. If canceled within 30 days of arrival, forfeit the entire deposit. If booked within 30 days of arrival, reservation is non-refundable.

For detailed information about our cancellation policy, please refer to your booking confirmation email or the cancellation policy provided at the time of your reservation.

The specific cancellation policy can vary depending on whether you have booked directly on our hotel website, or on an Online Travel Agency website (e.g. Booking.com, Expedia, etc.).

To modify or cancel an existing reservation that was made directly on the hotel website:

  1. Visit our website at www.farawayhotels.com , select your Island destination, and click "Booking" in the top-right corner of the page.
  2. In the panel pop-up on the left-hand side, find your existing booking by entering your Booking Number found in your email confirmation (e.g. 9JNAMUD6), OR enter your last name and check-in date.
  3. Modify your booking as required by clicking "Edit Dates", "Edit Room", or "Cancel Booking".
  4. Follow the prompts as displayed to submit the change or confirm cancellation.
